Some just don't pay attention,
yep some one scratched my mirror when pulling out of his/her space.
The driver kept on going completely unaware.
If tagged in a truck stop, What would you do?

depends...how bad? am i a company driver or is the truck MINE? company driver...id call safety immediately and tell them about it and take a picture or 2. dont want to end up being charged for an accident by the company later down the road. some would say keep notes on who you parked next to every night, but i dont. if it were MY truck, and someone put a couple scratches or a ding somewhere, and they were gone, honestly, id forget it. someone put a hole in my truck, or did something significant, id call the police and file hit and run report. i know its not terribly consistent, but im a money guy. i dont care much about a scratch on my car,or truck. someone keyed my car like 5 years ago, and my WIFE (who doesnt drive at all) was livid. i was angry, but less so. and its never been fixed lol. but you are more optimistic of human nature than i am...why would you assume they were unaware? SOME dont pay enough attention, but when they end up having a small accident, and think they can get away with it, they drive off...FULLY aware of what theyve done

But also if a trailer swings and just grazes a mirror you would never know it if you were not looking at it, But like poker said it depends on how it affects you.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
Believing the driver was unaware, true. the truck, trailer & driver are gone, there's nothing I can do about it now, I did feel it as this person left, he/she had just hit the road as I noticed the paint on the mirror mount. I was looking for damage on the truck first. I suppose I could have chased on foot, Couldn't catch the name on the door do to obstructions and a small font. It is just a scratch but still.... D a n g !!!
I'd be a bit upset if someone keyed my car too, I think most anyone would be -
Might have been this guy...

I was pulling out a spot a few years ago and the driver came on the radio said I just hit his mirror. I was like how in the world did I do that. Guess the tandems were pulled to far up and cut a little too tight. The over hang from the swing must of scratched the mirror. The damage was very minimal and he was like don't worry about it. You could barely tell and If he wasn't sitting in his driver seat at the time, and normally I don't even have my cb on. But happen to hear him call me. I would of just kept going. The driver I'm sure didn't see it and the damage is small just be thankful it wasn't too bad, because I'm sure you might find yourself in the same situation and would hate to have a minuscule accident on your record for something you probably couldn't prevent.

I woke up to the side of a trailer knocking off my fender mirror again.all i could do is stare at the hindu lady on the back of the reefer as he took off.In another adventure one of those hindu guys backed into pass mirror then his partner was banging on the door telling me to move, while I was parked in a slot at the truckstop.Had to get on the cb to get some guys back there to help them. They scratched my mirror but I figured they would try to convince me that it was my fault.Welcome to America

That completely sucks.

This driver was a car hauler and should know scratches don't work out well at all doing that.
Seriously, just trying to bring "paying attention" to the front of line to those who may take time to look. It is just a scratch, however we're not suppose to do it, I know it made me take another look at my own stuff.. I'm not so sure if i did it the other would be forgiving. Thanks for the replies
