I know this. Maybe you don't know that a BXS is an Acert with VVA's. Hence my orignal question. How is a BXS running a 340E jake when the Cat brake is required for the VVA's?

a bxs vva's and jake are separate on the bxs not like the mxs or nxs where they are incorporated in the same housing. thats what i have on mine is a 340E jake from a bxs when i converted it.underpsi Thanks this.

Interesting, that's exactly what I was wondering.
Does that mean the 340E has a cut away housing to allow for clearance of the VVA's?
Technically if one was doing a VVA removal you should be able to use a 340A to 340E as a replacement for the Cat brake as long as you have the studs to go with them.
Thanks! -
yep. the bxs was the first acert and they added the vva's to the top. they are the easiest acert to convert to a single turbo, dont even have to drill a hole for the cam sensor or change the cam gear. since they already have the (6nz style) cam gear and cam sensor location.

by the way my jake wasnt the problem. i think i have a blown head gasket. either the block deck is bad or i got a bad head or even something wrong with a liner.it sucks this close to the holidays.

HEAD GASKET! you already went down that road before ya converted. I hope its not. I agree being winter and too close to the hollidays. Oh by the way, the cooler and other parts i got from you is still alive and well.......i passed it down to the next guy when i done my deal. I hope everything turns out for good for ya russ.
