In my opinion some of you need to lighten up. The guy cant get a job and he's getting a lot of flack from just about everybody here, and for what? Asking a question seeking help/advice. Do we all really need to contribute in a negative way? At this point I think everybody has taken a jab at the poor guy so how about we just let it go and wish him the best.

I think we have ALL done things we are not proud of in our lifetime (I know I have) and to come here asking for advice was not the easiest thing for him to do... Then have salt rubbed into the wound isn't going to make him feel any better (now its true we are not here to make him feel better, but do we really need to kick him when he's down and make him feel worse?....does it make you feel better?). I'm sure I'll catch flack for this but I say give him a break and let the non-productive posts stop. This post has 1300 page views, I think he's had enough guys.

If you can help him then do so, but lets drop the attitudes and have some compassion for the guy, after all its Christmas time. Flame me if you want but I've said my peace.

    Respect to all,

Finding a SAP took an incredible amount of time. I first called every counseler in the phone book and asked about a SAP that could help my situation for the DOT's "Return-to-Duty Process". Most did not have a clue what I was asking but I did find 1 person who did give me some information of who or where to call. I then called the DOT and they gave me a web site that had about 6 or 7 SAPs that were available. I then contacted one and he immediately got me an appointment for evaluation. Be sure that whomever you choose to be your SAP, that they are a true DOT approved provider, as there are special requirements that must be met for a drug counselor to be DOT approved/regulated. Good luck to you and let me know if you need further assistance.

Dealing with my actions?......I am. "Deal with the responses" that I am getting???......uh,...WHAT????...I am RESPONDING to the responses,.... that is the whole concept of the forum. If you mean to agree [deal] with the postings that are not even coming close to addressing my QUESTIONS, not their personal opinions on "drugs and truck driving", ... uh, no, I won't. I will, however, answer back to those who can ACTUALLY put their own feelings aside and ACTUALLY post something RELATIVE to my questions, not condescending. Comparing my situation to someone who ordered a murder is pretty lame....I will give you a situation that maybe you have been in. O.k......You are speeding[doing drugs], you get pulled over [positive drug test], the police did not give you a speeding ticket, just let you go [not getting hired] but still caused you a lot of grief with your wife who had told you not to speed.....UH??...does NOT make sense,.....just as YOUR comparison. ....P.S..... If you can tell just by reading a post that someone is on cocaine, I should and could honestly say that you are not on drugs, but that you are probably mentally challenged.:biggrin_25526: Good luck to you.

Guess you should look for that job as an actor/actress/pro-baseball/football/hockey/basketball/tennis, lawyer, doctor, dentist, nurse, pilot (BTW... they are subject to random drug tests too), etc ad nauseum.....cause you aren't going to get a job delivering 8000 gallons of highly flammable fuel right along side of ANY school bus..at least not in the near future anyway.

    Cheer Up ChefLRD.......
In 7 years, any reference to your Positive drug test will drop off the DAC record. Providing you have no further episodes of "bad decision" making, you might find a job as a trucker.

Like I have ALREADY stated;.... there is NO, once again....N-O positive drug test on my DAC. Unless you are an actual employee, the company where you had the pre-employment drug test at CANNOT put a positive drug test on your dac. BUT, what they CAN do is to put on your employment history part of the DAC, that you were an employee, and when any company that searches your DAC will see this, and can then contact that company, which in turn, they can, and will release the information regarding your positive drug test. Trust me, I have researched this, and have recieved my DAC confirming my assessment. Also the company at which the +drug test was at can only keep this record for 2 years, being that it was a pre-employment drug test. If you are an employee they can keep it and report it for 3 years. This is the reason why the companies will wait this long to employ someone who had a +drug test. The regulations are easily seen in the FMCSR concerning this subject matter, which I have studied and has led me in the direction of disputing my EMPLOYMENT history. Then if my employment history dispute on the DAC is taken off, viola....no positive drug test will be affecting my hiring. That was my ORIGINAL question which has been mostly lost in a sea of angry, condescending, and, quite frankly, uninformative posts. Long story short Roadkill,......I'll be a trucker in way less than 7 years, at the most....2. Have a good one.

Hopefully, in the interim, you will have a change in attitude.

I agree that his original post was FULL of excuses and justifications. Nothing I am not familiar with.

Boy are you in for one HELL OF A SURPRISE!!! Becuse they CAN and DO list that you have FAILED a PRE EMPLOYMENT drug test. Just so you know it takes a little bit of time for the company to make the entry on your DAC round about 30 days.
