If you're just going to the orientation, make sure you bring a notebook & or some kind of audio recorder. You're going to be bombarded with a *LOT* of information that you should try to keep track of.
If you attended a school, you'll also need a copy of your certificate of completion.
This is all assuming that they already have a copy of your current driving record & that you have all your endorsement ducks in a row.

well, orientation is often followed immediately by going out with a trainer, so id bring 5 or so sets of clothes, all personal hygiene items, a towel, a sleeping bag, a pillow, pens/pencils, drivers license, school completion info, passport. medical card, social security card, birth cert, as much money as you think you will need for length of orientation plus a couple weeks with trainer, laptop, cell phone, trucker gps and cb if owned, atlas if owned. sure im leaving stuff out, but that should getcha thru in a pinch. while with trainer, ask him what he would suggest you keep in you truck. tools, flashlight, bungee cords, snow chains, extra headlamps for your truck, trailer lights, duct tape, etc etc etc...

Bring the willingness to sit in a classroom for eight or nine hours a day, four or five days in the week with absolutely no pay and no guarantee that they'll even hire you...even if you've been there the entire time. Oh...and a pen...
