hey everybody i recently applied to millis transfer and i didnt receive a phone call so i figuared i would call. I already knew what the answer was going to be since no phone call from them. They said it was denied.I asked why and the recruiter told me there were better applicants and that they receive 300 applications a day? Really? I'm disappointed since i've heard nothing but great news about them. Also all the perks with training, pay, home-time, ect. Ive been doing research on all companies and millis seems to be the best company to start your trucking career. Anybody recommend another company? Thanks Lenny
Application was denied!

I started with Roehl, considering where you live they would be good. They can get you home every 11 days for 3 days off.

I live in westchester ny 30 minutes outside city. I see your from new york. When you applied for roehl were u currently living in ny

my first company was usa truck. i live in binghamton ny (just over the pa/ny border on 81) and had no problems with them getting me home. when i compared them at the time, they were the best paying out of roehl, pam, usa truck. they kept me running...almost never had a week under 2500 miles...average was close to 2900 per week. i like to stay out longer and take longer hometime breaks (5-8 weeks out, 5-8 days home) and they were accomodating with this. no matter which big company we are talking about you will always be able to find some who say its a great company, and some who say its the worst company ever. sorry to hear about millis for you. dont know whatr requirements are, but living in the same basic area, i would also look into crete/shaffer, and heartland express. heartland pays exceedingly well, especially for northeast freight. have northeast regional as well.

Thanks Poker. And your right theres always going to be different reviews and opinions about truck companies. I'm going to look into those 3 you recommend right now. What company are you working for currently?

looking to get into my own truck...tired of working for "da man". be advised...any info i gave on usa truck is several years old. from what i understand they have apus in most trucks now, a better deal than when i was there/ (side note...i wonder why ALL big companies dont do this to every single truck...my math says they take less than 18 months to pay for themselves??) im not advocating to blindly follow my words and think usa truck is great...they could be much better or much worse than when i was with them in 2003/4. im looking thru the auction sites and elsewhere hoping to find a decent deal on a used truck...not a millionaire yet lol. ooh..sleepy hollow...you get many headless people meandering around these days?
