When I got mine I didn't notice a change until I started running shuttle at night and I could see a big improvement as I didn't get sleepy so quickly while driving in the dark.

Delivered in Villa Rica, GA this morning then headed over to Lithia Springs to pick up a hazmat load headed for SC. It took a few hours to get loaded so I made it to within 48 miles of the customer and shut down here at the Pilot on I-95 in Darlington. Will press on in the morning and hope they find me a good long run for tomorrow. This week has been around 300 mile runs and lots of time to get them there. Talked to one buddy who waited 17 hours for a load after heading out on Monday. I am hoping the miles rack up toward the end of the week.

After sleeping all night and delivering this morning I got a load assignment. Head over to Dillon, SC for a night time pick up that I'll have to run overnight to Knoxville and deliver tomorrow. Now it's the fun of trying to get a nap when you are pretty much wide awake. I'll be lucky to knock out 1500 miles this week the way it is looking. It's pretty much what I expected the week before Christmas.

Does Averitt equip their trucks with jake brakes? Does anybody on this thread run up north around Chicago area?
-
I was looking pretty sad myself this week with under 400 miles by Tue evening. Fortunately I got about a 1000 mile pickup/deliver run down to Orlando due in the morning. I'll hopefully end up with about 2000 for the week myself. I was told freight was really slow this week, which wasn't hard to figure out based on my low miles.

All Averitt trucks I've ever seen have jake brakes. There are two Averitt yards around the Chicago area - one north and one south. I've never been to the northern yard, and I may be wrong, but I think it is just a drop yard for trailer relays. I have been to the southern yard. It was a small yard and didn't see much going on the evening I was there. I don't think that they have any truckload drivers based out of there - only ltl drivers who deliver local loads when they are brought in. Of course, I may be wrong about that one to.
