Yup. They've done it to me. Local PD didn't want to bother with it since it involved two tractor trailers. FHP wrote me a ticket for backing into a power pole last year, a power pole that was on my property, at my house

Yeah, doesn't sound quite right to me either... Hope he smashed that parked truck up pretty good though.

Just took out a fender. One good thing about long nose Pete's is that they have a 3 piece hood. So the fender would be easily replaced

In FL FHP investigates all incidents with property damage, regardless of property status, and has authority to issue tickets on private property. We had one writing tickets for running stop signs in shopping centers a few years back.

Your experiences with FHP and private property crashes are not similar to mine.

A flat bed nosed in at the J in Winslow Arizona about a month ago. When he backed out of it in the morning he took out the fiberglass passenger side of a western express plus put some pretty good gashes on the drive tires. I don't think either them was paying attention to their surroundings.

Well when I hit that power pole, our neighbors called the cops. Even though it was on my property. County deputy shows up and I show him what happened. He wasn't going to write me a ticket but said because I live on a state road, anything that happens at an address on a state road or FHP controlled highway, then FHP investigates it. Also, the trooper that gave me a ticket only did it because I'm a company driver. Said if I was an owner op then no ticket would have been issued.

A couple months ago I saw a flatbedder pull straight out of a spot and rip the bumper off of what appeared to be a new Cascadia one night at that same J.

That J is notorious for drama and I stay far away as possible. Lol
