What would be considered good pay for a husband/wife driving team with ten years experience? Per mile? Percentage of the load? How much?

Running as a company team, lease operator team, or on your own authority???
-
Sorry, guess I failed to state that part! Hey, I knew exactly what I was talking about though! I meant to say "Company Team"

They would have to out me on a salary of 500k!

There isn't too much flatbed team freight that I know of, not saying there isn't any, because there is, but there isn't enough money in the world to get me to team with anyone
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
I would say that for a experienced team....50-60 cents per mile plus tarp pay or 30-35% truck pay on loads would be about right. I know one guy who pays his teams salary.
SHC Thanks this. -
Believe it or not, there is more team flatbed/stepdeck freight then you think!
-
when i dispatched had a few teams ran them from the east coast to the west coast, that way you only had to deal with them once a week. but that is hard to do with flatbed freight. and if you run them with the solo drivers, you have the problem with the solo drivers saying the teams are dispatched before them. money wise back in the 70s tom inman was paying teams 27 cents a mile out of calf. with produce.

Taking a 1200mile load On Monday morning and delivering it Tuesday morning doesn't count

There are two markets that I know of that will work for you and the wife if you want to skateboard.
1. Canada, the territories, and Alaska. No criminal past, passports required of course. Every run is extremely long, and extremely tough.
2. There are a few companies that carry stuff like ammo ( TSMT is the first one to come to mind, there's also the one out of Georgia, but I believe it's an O/O company) . They require that one person stay with the truck at all times when loaded.
Guys that heavy haul or pull super loads all the time will normally set the wife up as their pilot car. I guess the ideal for a husband and wife team would to be some sort of drop and hook deal where they can turn and burn 7-8000 miles per week.
