I resemble those remarks too !!
And what ....... no one uses D11's anymore ?? What's the western world come to ? I have one out back here to plow my driveway in the winter ! -
I have just enough silver in my hair to resemble these remarks. My Uncles recently sold Grand-Dad's 1966 JD 350 Track Loader with 3 Cylinder Gas Engine. I discovered this by observing this machine 300 kms removed from its Homestead. Thoroughly enjoyed Rubber Tired & Articulated 1977 JD 444D, and it was a pleasure to service. Wore out my ear drums with a 1972 Cat 926, and 1968 Champion D562. Nothing as big as a D11, but I get the picture.
What is the Western World coming to? Too much tech-ie, not 'nuf common-sense-ie. Those old beasties can still perform when the new ones puke due to a sensor or poor programming.
jamesg, pleased to hear from you again. Refreshing to hear of a sharp young guy Living The Dream. -
Hey Guys! I just wanna thank everyone who is posting, as someone who is entering the biz this thread has been informative. I would like to ask though, whats the difference with oil patch trucking in sakatchewan as opposed to alberta?
-
Hills and mountains!
-
Good one thank you
-
the difference a little less mud and a lot more rock
-
A lot of them! Sask is flat and boring.

To hell with an agency. Get a holf of the International union of Operating Engineers in your area and tell them you want to come to Alberta. They will get you placed long before any agency can. (And no agency fees)

Hi guys,
I was trying to go through the whole forum, but you have got too many pages over here
I have a question for you:
I live in Toronto, Ontario.
I should be getting my AZ license at the beginning of January, 2013. Currently I am learning how to drive the truck.
Today I was told that there are companies in Oil Industry that are located in Alberta that hire truck drivers with no or little working experience. These guys bring oil (or "raw oil"?) from Alberta to Ontario. I was also told that they are making around 10k per month, and they work 3 weeks there, and then stay home for one week.
If you do not mind, could you please let me know which companies should I contact to get more information?
Best,
Sergii
P.S. As far as I understood I should contact them directly and not through the agency.
