Yes it is. Not a bad place to load. Usually in and out in 2 hours.

I'm sitting at the Petro by the terminal. Got here yesterday about 1pm. I spent the whole day here and never went to the yard. I gave Tom my paperwork to hand in for me so I relaxed the whole day. I'll go in tomorrow around lunch time and get my trip envelope from Louie. I called him today just to touch base with him and see if he wants me to keep this reefer trailer I've had the last two weeks. He said yes which is good because this particular trailer is in good shape, was serviced last week and has good tires and brakes on it. I can't wait to get home this week. I'm empty Friday, the truck will be parked by noon at the lot I use and I won't look at it until January 14th when I get off vacation.

Now for a little story. I got home Friday and took a nap. When I woke up I went on my computer at the house and saw the breaking news about a shooting at a school in Ct. I put the TV on and watched the early reports. I loaded up my wifes car with my stuff and she took me to my truck, while loading my stuff the news came out that 27 people where shot and killed. I spent the whole weekend listening to the news about this tragedy. I've been in complete shock about the whole thing since leaving the house. I don't know what the answer is. Part of me says gun control, part of me says more mental health and part of me say's leave it alone. Both my wife and I are gun owners, We both have our concealed weapons permit and we both know how to shoot, Lesli, my wife has entered tournaments and has won many awards for her shooting skill. This is a tragedy of unspeakable enormity. I just hope and pray that everyone effected by this can find some sort of peace within themselves in the day's and years ahead. And for those twenty little Angels, I just pray God will take care of them.

One last thing, the next person that has a wild hair up their a.z.z about taking a gun and doing this incredible type of act then taking the easy way out by commiting suicide, try the suicide first. It'll save a lot of heartache.

I usually handle the news of random acts of violence fairly well, although death is never a part of life any of us want to face, it just seems easier to deal with it on smaller scales sometimes. When I heard the news of this on the radio, my heart absolutely sank, I turned off the CB and the radio, and don't make fun of me for this, but actually called my mom to ask her what the heck is going on in the world these days. I'm 29 and my parents and I still talk on the phone daily. Times like now really put my life in to perspective, and hopefully it will with others as well. I'm working in Pennsylvania over 1,100 miles away from my wife, 7 hours away from my parents and it's times like these I've never felt more alone. Dads hug your kids, Moms hug your kids, kids hug your parents, and husbands and wives hug one another because you just never know.

Sorry to get long winded John, but I feel where you're coming from. Have a safe trip home, and enjoy that vacation.

Busy day today. I woke up at 9am, went in had breakfast then went to the yard and got my truck a complete service. I fueled the truck and trailer and was back at the truckstop at noon. Took a nap then went inside and had lunch. Right now I just woke up from another nap, had dinner and am getting ready to listen to the Heat game. I should be in bed by 10:30 after such a hard day. As far as I'm concerned, my vacation has already started, I just need to get my load on in the morning and drive home.

Calex sure does like the produce I see, I was never a big fan of produce....a LOT of sitting!! Then again that was many years ago I'm sure things have changed, maybe. I know of two places that are "regulars" you guys deliver to on the back-haul and I wouldn't say they are the traditional grocery warehouses, is the one that the lettuce goes to in New Jersey a grocery warehouse or a store distribution warehouse?? Over all I would say your experience with Calex is a positive one and I appreciate the info you put out, it is definitely making me reconsider my promise years ago to never pull a noise box again. Very good information.

It's Ready Pac in Florence NJ that is part of Wegmans in Pottsville. They package the lettuce into bags of salad and distribute to their stores. The sitting part? It really hasn't changed much over the years out of Ca and Az. I think my experience here has been very good. Not pefect, but in my bed at home 4 nights a week and only working on average 4 days a week is pretty good in this busines of OTR. The information I share here is what happens to me and how I deal with it. Through my travels and writings here this allows me to share my week and how I deal with it.

As long as your paperwork, job references and the typical background checks are in order then you have the job. Good luck and if you have any questions just ask away. I'm on vacation and will be leaving on a cruise the 31st but there's regulars on here that can answer any questions you might have. Welcome aboard.

I'm home, got here last night at 6pm. Left this morning at 5:30 and was empty on my way back to the house at 7:30. I put my truck to sleep for the next 3.5 weeks and now I have absolutely nothing to do except for a few things on the never ending honey do list and count down the days until our ship leaves.

My last pay check for 2012 will be next Friday. Not a bad year, in fact, since I started this dedicated run July 27th my weekly check has gone up about 12% compared to the first half of this year. I made right at 27K the first half of this year and right at 30K the last half. My 2 weeks vacation will be paid the first 2 weeks of 2013 so that will be counted on 2013.
