i was told on another thread that swift has a refresher coarse for inexperienced drivers is this true and if so what can anyone who has done it tell me about it.I got my CDL in June but haven't been in a truck since August and I am worried about quitting my job and going to orientation and not passing a road test.

Yes it is true however it depends on you're skills sets,
I got my cdl in 08 came back a couple weeks ago, i went to Phoenix for 3 weeks and am with a mentor for 4 -6 weeks
But just like any other job change it don't come with out risk, i was the same way at first but once was all said and done, it's worth it
Just be honest with them and you'll be fine

If you have a CDL and pass a preliminary road test, you'll do 3 days orientation and then 240 hours behind the wheel with a mentor.

Some of the experienced guys will only have to do 50 hours with a mentor unless Swift has scrapped that. It used to depend on how long you have been driving and when you last drove. The preliminary road test at orientation is a must do for all new drivers that did not go to a Swift school.

The road test is so easy btw that if you can't pass it you don't deserve to have a CDL. Its around the block, a few up shifts, a few down shifts, a couple right turns and a left turn. Like I said, if you can't do that you shouldn't drive trucks. No refresher should be required to pass it...

We had a starting orientation group of 17 11 survived only 2 passed the road test
