Yes, we do a lot of tarping. However, if you're able, I recommend buying 4' steel tarps. I have a set that will cover a whole trailer--16x27 with 4' flap, 16x27 no flap, and 16x16. Total cost without shipping was approx $500. With all the time and energy I have saved with these tarps (I've used Melton's 8' drops maybe 3-4 times in the last 6 months, and 2 of those were loads of hay) I'd say I have made my money back on them numerous times.

How's the freight in North & Central Louisiana?
-
Melton only supplies lumber tarps?
-
Melton only gives 8' lumbers, yes. They have moved to the 3 piece, which are lighter, but I still would rather have the older 2 piece.
There are a few places in LA where we pick up, but we always have freight going through there...if you're close to 20 you could swing by your house under a load if you have ample time.ATX Thanks this. -
Does Melton having a training program for recent CDL-A grads from a truck driving school?
-
No. You don't have to have much experience, but you at least need to have 1 month OTR.
ATX Thanks this. -
Noggin,
I was wondering if they are taking local runs as experience these days. I have worked in the industry for a year this coming February. I am looking to go over the road and trying to figure out what would be best for me. -
Fixed..According to melton's website. -
Um....seeing as it is ONE month, you have fixed nothing.....
-
They prefer it to be OTR.
