I recently bought an 08' 389 w/550 cat.2wks later turbos started spinning up rapidly, took to dealer said turbos bad, replaced, didn't make sense but warranty company paid.now 3 wks later turbos are spinning up rapidly again even at low rpms, overboosting 3-4 pounds past normal. don't think turbos are bad seems like control issue to me. can anyone help????

Is the DPF regenerating when you notice the increased boost? If so that's normal, could just be colder ambient temps causing increased boost pressure. Either way it shouldn't be an issue unless there's an accompanying degradation of performance involved

don't mind the additional boost lots of power but it is uncontrolled boost, in other words it just spins right up to 40# +.normally it would come up to 25-30 lbs at low rpm thenclimb as pull increases.

Not sure if I'm following ya on your first reply, there's other issues there if the engine produces enough blow by to expel the dipstick, could be as simple as a plugged rocker cover vent or as bad as a scored liner/worn out rings. The turbos building excessive boost are a resultant condition of fuel delivery, more fuel more boost and vice versa.

That canister is the crankcase vent filter. That needs to be changed once and a while. I do mine every 60k or so. There like $70 and no one makes them but cat. There was a service letter for that problem you described, the oil blowing out , can't remember what the fix was. A cat dealer would be the place to go.

Keeping that motor running is a full time job. Good luck

Cats remedy is to use a bungee to hold the dipstick down
