    Hello Everyone,
My name is Carl, I spent over 10+ years serving in the United States Army as an 88m or Motor Transport Operator, and seen three tours of combat. I got my CDL while I was in the Army as a technical certification for my military occupational specialty or (mos). I just recently had an application approved with a company, and I go to my orientation and training next month. I will not post the company I will be working for as I noticed from viewing these forums everyone has an opinion about something and if its not their company they usually bad mouth it. I also do not discuss politics, guns, or religion. I have my beliefs and opinions, as does everyone, however I have noticed bitterness if you do not believe in the same manner as does the other in the conversation. While everyone is entitled to their opinions and freedom of speech, I choose to exercise mine in a manner not to be intrusive or judgmental of others. I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, fishing, nascar, and music. I have a year left until I graduate from college, which I will be balancing while on the road as well. I have some general concepts of trucking since I did it in the military, but I do understand the vast difference in the civilian sector. I'm here to learn from others, and perhaps make some friends along the way. Well stay safe everyone!

Welcome to your new career. Thanks to the companies with veterans programs & that recognize military CDL's & military driving time such as Crete Carrier & Schneider & Quality Carriers & several others.

Thank you Chinatown! You guessed the company but I won't say which one as I don't want jinx my research. Or attract negativity but let's say I will do alright as a rookie hopefully, keeping head clear and focused for time being.

They're good companies & some have several divisions such as tanker, flatbed, reefer to choose from once you decide where the best fit is for you.
