a good reason not to trust your gps

LOL this reminds me of the time I was driving south on I-15 in Utah and they closed a part of the interstate due to a wild fire. Well a guy gets on the cb and says he knows a detour so 5 trucks follow him. He takes us on a dirt road that sees maybe one pick up truck every 3 days. Three miles in I'm thinking ##### where are we going but then I was so relieved when the saw the US highway sign towards I-15. Luckily he was there otherwise we'd be sitting for who knows how long.

But yeah doing down such a road because your gps says so is pretty bad.

 

Shooot $300,000 for a couple of 2x4's Lumber? it's all about hating the American Truck Driver. For you Drivers that said, you can't fix stupid? The City could'off installed a sign saying, semi trucks prohibited!

 

They said there was a 12ft6in height sign. That right there should have told him not to enter. People are becoming too dependent on technology and simply not thinking anymore. We are becoming cyborgs.

 

And the driver could have got his head out of his ### and use some common sense.... Typical everything is everyone else's fault...

Just a little common sense would have prevented him from trying to go through a covered bridge with wooden planks for a roadway. Just saying...

I put a lot of trust in my GPS, but not to the point where I don't think I have to watch the road anymore.

If I'm in a place I haven't been to before, which is most of the time, I will follow my GPS. At the same time, when I do that, I am extra vigilant about looking at road signs and other obstacles I may be coming up on.

There is nothing wrong with a GPS. You just have to remain driving like a professional when you are using it.
