A lot of talk about common sense. If you think most lack it perhaps you're not common.

I don't think an IQ test would be a good idea. There are many other types of testing that could be good though. Tests aimed at gaging attitude and decision making. High IQ doesn't equal wise choices.

I see these with the trainer in one of the seats. I want to go pull them out of the truck and take my tie down bar to 'em. Definitely falls under my old sig line: "Newbies, there is a vast gulf between the possible and the advisable."

    skellr Thanks this.

Yes, I saw the Swift bank heist video. No clue what the guy was thinking. Also have seen a few U-turns, a couple that produced T-bones :biggrin_25513: I learned to stop, set the brakes, run around the truck 4 times, get back in and follow the GPS that is telling me an alternate route :biggrin_2559: (that was a joke folks, as Herman Cain said, some just need to get a sense of humor.)

    skellr and Hammer166 Thank this.

And by not giving that driver a hand...you made the problem any better....One thing thats wrong with trucking today...newbies that have absoltely no respect for anybody or anything but themselves. Yes...I saw that you say you have 7 years...well IMO YOU fall into that spot, for the simple fact that you refused to give another human being a little help. Would it have hurt you to maybe explain to the man how the scale ticket was worded...NO , would it have maybe helped him to realise that he needs to get some help with his reading probem...maybe , maybe not...one things for certain one of these days YOU WILL need some help from a "Old hand" and I'm thinking that you will get it...no questions asked just for the asking...think about it , and the impression that you made on any other driver that overheard your conversation with that fellow.....Doing the right thing is never wrong....and refusing to help someone when you have the ability to do so...well I'll let you figure that one out.........

It isn't really a question of more or less regulation; it is a question of good regulation or bad regulation, and it's complicated, because life and the world are complicated, and regulation must deal with many varied circumstances.
