At school we had a visit from Covenant Trucking. Nice people. They allow dogs or cats ... No exotics.

It really depends on what specifications a company has on new hires. 17 over might be a three year drop off wait from 2010. Of course then you'll have to spend even more money getting a refresher. Trucking doesn't even pay well enough the first two years to be going through so much trouble. Good luck to you.

Morehouse Truck Line has a pet & rider policy.
That ticket is not good, some companies look at 15 or more over the speed limit as reckless driving.
    Try these companies:
    Carolina Cargo
    Sharkey Transportation
    Paschall Truck Lines

Also, go to "Trucking Jobs" thread on here and click on "Seeking Employment".

WHY do you want to abuse your dog and keep it locked up in a truck? Euthenizing it would be kinder.

Kids are great. My youngest asked me the other night if I start driving will I get another dog. No, I replied, why would I do that? He says, because that guy on Smokey and the Bandit had one! I laughed my tail off, but had to smile at that innocent comment.

Our dog would love to go. Every time I grab my keys he thinks he is going for a ride! I would only take him on the road every now and then, but at 80 pounds, he would not be allowed by most policies anyway. Great dog though, a yellow Lab.

Our Company has a training program and we have a couple of ladies that drive for us, They allow pets, and also if the Team trainer don't mind, the pet can go in training. We have Automatics on up to 18 speeds. Problem is, We hire in our local area up here in MI. But you might find a smaller company up there that does the same thing.

I know some dogs that all they want to do is get into that rig and ride! While out of the truck at home on the weekends, they just mope around waiting for Sunday to come when they get all happy again to get back out on the road. One dog for example was named Diesel that dog lived for the highway!
