They assign you a truck.

Rumor has it, any one fresh out of Fontana, slips seats untill they get a little wet behind their ears.
-
If that's true, I'm glad I got through before that began.
-
What is slip-seating?
-
at orientation at fontana last weeek and they said if you're off more than 34 hrs., you have to turn in truck
-
More than one driver uses the truck. Most shuttle trucks are slip seated.
Swift started a program called the family plan a few years ago. Three drivers shared 2 trucks, stay out 2 weeks, be off 1 week. That was the way it was supposed to work in theory, never quite did. -
I see that the OP if from Columbus, and the last that I knew, depending on how far from the terminal there is a good chance that can take the truck home. If leave at the terminal, a very good chance that if on 3-4 days off, he will have the truck when he gets back. It just all depends. I do know of some that live close to the terminal and have a place that they can park the truck and trailer and they just say go home.

So Fontana is following the lead of Phoenix it seems.
I'm out of Otay Mesa, but my home times are split between Denver and Apple Valley, MN. Soon to be Sacratomato CA as well.
I usually take between 2 and 4 days, and there has never been an issue.DocWatson Thanks this. -
I am out of the Denver terminal asks the basic conscious at orientation was if you take more than 3 -4 off they can slip seat yours truck out from under you
