Ive done the daycab trip before as well due to heavy load. Load was 492 miles loaded, one night in hotel, made the morning delivery and deadheaded back and motel was reimbursed. It won't kill you driver

This is trucking and anyone who's been doing this for awhile know sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do what their dispatcher ask. You're just hurting yourself if you don't.Companies have a way of making the drivers life so miserable that the driver is force to quit if he/she wants to dispute what is asked of them.Dispatchers/Companies don't have time for whiners/babies and ppl that just like to argue.Sounds like this driver got just a tad bit bent out of shape.

    Try common sense maybe?

They asked him to take a two day tri with a daycab and offered him a hotel room. Whats not to understand? Whats not common sense? I see day cabs lined up at hotels every night.

I agree and also Winter is here, with winter comes closed roads. What's this driver going to do if he has to stay in a hotel.I.m a local driver and almost every day I see day cabs at 3 motels.

think anyone that has experience in a day cab, can say yes they might be a little cramped compared to a sleeper, but as someone who is 6'9" i can say that working for a farmer sometimes required me to sleep in the day cab ex. if i needed to be at an elevator that was over 3 hrs away at 6 in the morning i would go there the night before. when it comes down to it i agree with witching hour, if you want a job, you do what your employer asks, if it's reasonable, especially in this economy, and especially if there is a hotel room promised. at least a hotel room has other ammenitys that a truck stop sometimes does not.

Sleeping in a daycab is not reasonable.....
