Me and my wife just went through orientation in the last month and it's just a piss test. It's been a great place to work with lots of good people to work with!
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

Any criteria that triggers a sleep study that you know of? I have heard of neck measurements at another place. He has no diagnosis of anything, was just curious as he has a big neck. My son has submitted his formal application to HOW. Weeble, is there any benefit to him talking to your trainer? Also how long is the training for someone with a couple of years of Northeast Regional? Any idea?
-
I had to do sleep apnea testing, based on neck size and body weight. They just make you do a test at some point to determine whether you have it or not. I was tested, and they concluded that I don't have it. I talked to my trainer a couple of times before I went out into training with him.
Training is at the very minimum 5000 miles. I did 5600 but it took 4 weeks to complete with the holidays. I went to final processing after training and there was another guy there out for the same four weeks that drove 10000 miles. All depends on who you get as a trainer and where they run, but on average I would say it's around a month.Kutina Thanks this. -
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Santa brought them everything they wanted! Picking up my load today and then heading straight into the heart of Euclid. Looks like winter is really starting to hit it's stride.

I also hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and restful time off. I know I did! I also received a ppl this morning picking up in University Park Il. and Del. to Fargo ND. on Friday. This will be my first trip to ND. Should be interesting! Shawn says its about an 800 mile run. With the days off that should put me around 1200 miles for this week. I'm happy with that. I ended up buying a refridge for the truck for 1 of my Christmas presents, but I don't have a invertor that runs it! I'll have to ask next time in Amherst if they will allow me to put a bigger invertor in the truck. Either that or wait to see what kind of truck I get when my wife teams with me. Shawn thinks that some of the Condo's come with invertors in them already? Anyways drive safe everyone!!

Made it to Waterloo, NY last night, what an adventure. Started snowing as I got on 290 last night. If you didn't know how to drive in snow or if you need coffee to keep going, you definitely shouldn't have been on the road. Some places it was coming down 2-3 inches an hour. It was fun turning the high beams on and off and pretending I was in Star Wars. For the most part, all you could manage was right around 45. Multiple spinouts, cars trying to get off exits at the last minute. Also, for smaller vehicles, they sure know how to take up a lot more space than we do. They made it so you had to find the rumble strip to get by. Oh well, I do enjoy driving in the snow, round 2 here in an hour. Be safe all!

Webble your a crazy man! I'm at the Russell TAB which at one point seemed like it had more Wolding trucks than the how yard. Delivering in Glenview in the morning then picking up in McHenry for a trip out to Bellemont.
JBK just know one trip to ND means your truck isn't going to be clean until spring. Good luck with the inverter, they have gotten pretty strict about them.

My son who sent in his application just before Christmas got a call from WI. They want him to fax in his long form DOT physical. Hopefully that is a good sign they liked the rest of the application.

Tori, Arne always jokes that Russell is our secondary yard, usually more trucks there than the yard.
Leyland, it sounds like a good sign to me, as long as he has a clean record and a clean bill of health he should be good. Just make sure to disclose everything with them as far as the medical side of things go.
I'm at a travel plaza along the turnpike in Indiana. Delivering tomorrow in Wisconsin and then hopefully up to the yard to move into my new office.Kutina and danielfrench83 Thank this. -
Hey weeble, leylandauto's kid, finally got compatible system up. Talked to recruiting today to confirm receipt of my dot physical. They said they've received it and sent packet up to hiring committee. Said they'll have an answer by Monday most likely. Fingers crossed for now. What do I need to know about orientation, should I make it so far?
Thanks for advice by proxy to date,
Daniel
