400 miler? you aint asking for much. this is the time to get a good cross country run traffic will be light and you can make some time if the roads are clear.

I agree, but 400>0. I just drove through atl rush hour in the rain at 50+, so I fully appreciate the lack of traffic.

let this be a lesson. no one is opened. our company surely isn't. neither is my delivery.

and to think. next week will be a repeat of this week. 4 days off 3 days on 4 days off 3 days on then 2 days for the weekend next year THEN we start our regularly scheduled miles. on a 5 day weekly basis.

i don't mind the time off but the paychecks suck. my first payweek. was turkey. then my sons graduation from boot camp. then xmas. then new years. 4 shortened paychecks in a roll. payday is twice a month.

Well I'm only gonna be shut down tomorrow. Dh today to sc, get a much needed 34, then pick up on the 26th headed to IA. So now for the real questions of importance: who will have the best food for Christmas?

Not me smadronia...I always worry if when I do a drop that I leave the bills so I double-check then triple-check, and would turn around if I did forget. For me, no sense doing the job if you can't do it right! As with the dm and miles situation, I was able to get some decent runs...one was a bit tight on time (while the other had tons of time...), was able to get a drop on the one with tons of time as I arrived almost 2-days early, and the other I ran hard using all my hrs and made the deliveries on time. Will see how things continue but for now, home time for me since the last time at home was mid-Oct.

Good to hear things are going better for you diner man. Being loud has its benefits, so long as the right people hear you.

All - I know many of you will be out on the roads and away from home - I was fortunate and ran...what I thought was a long time (9-10 weeks straight) and am finally home - home for Christmas. To all of you still out there, drive safe, be safe, and have a Merry Christmas...no matter where you are. Like I said, I know I am fortunate to be home at this time - won't happen every year I know. On top of that, I found out my son will return home from Afghanistan (Marine Corp) in about 3 weeks - will be good to see him again...well, when I get home again sometime in the future. Again, stay safe!!

Passed my road test Saturday with 16 missed of the allotted 45, the highest of our class. Orientation will be Wed and Thurs and hoping I'll get my trainer after that. Crossing my fingers I'll get a cool trainer.

I did manage to get preset. 1400 miles for Wednesday morning. Now I get to turn 23 hours magically into 30 and reschedule for that afternoon day of delivery. This should be fun. But running New York to Utah and the East Wisconsin in one week will be a change of pace for my bank acct!! ;) merry Christmas all. Be safe out there.
