Speaking of the OP. There's been no reply from the OP yet. Is this another "one post wonder" and we're just feeding the trolls? Or did the OP crawl under a rock after reading most of these replies?

I lived in a truck with a 40inch flat top for 3 yrs. I never minded it at all. A truck is meant to drive. A sleeper is for sleeping. I dont measure my driving skill by the size of my sleeper or amount of chrome or chicken lights on my truckBoardhauler and jomar68 Thank this.

Saw A driver in A rest stop with A conventional Mack rigged up pretty neatly for sleeping. The gear shifts were cut , threaded and coupled. He removed the upper sections and laid what looked like 2 garage floor creepers hinged together across the seats. The bedding and pillow were somehow attached securely, and the rig was kept in A military looking canvas duffle bag. I was really fascinated by it and wanted A closer look , but the driver was beding down and approaching him under the circumstances seemed rude . I also feel being punched in the nose or whacked with A tire buddy , sprayed with starting fluid etc. would have not ended the day on A positive note. The guy looked tired and grumpy. It was at Breezewood , and the tractor was A B75 , I think , but repowered , not sure of the engine ; but definitely not A 673 Mack........Necessity is the mother of invention . On another topic , I tried farming once , Hereford cattle , 50 acres of hay etc. . I also held A conventional job at the time , fortunately for me because I lost my patoot on the farm. Confidence is A feeling one experiences prior to fully comprehending the nature of his adversaries . The ancient Greeks called it " Hubris ". In my lifetime , if I haven't learned anything else , I have learned that truck drivers and farmers are not stupid people. Currahee , I stand alone ! Far from anyone who cares , left to deal with the most perplexing of euipment failures , mis-routings , horrific weather and some fellow pilgrims in this barren land ( shippers, dispatchers etc. ) who arise each morning intent on being offended as soon as possible. When in school, I was compelled to study A " pamphlet " written circa 1899 by A book publisher who is still in his deck chair on the Titanic .....Hubbard , I think.....he wrote " A Message to Garcia " during the Spanish American War. No doubt you can Google it , but to me it epitomizes drivers , some of the last examples of American " can do " rugged individualism .....and all without asking stupid questions one could answer themselves if only they woud think ( the most difficult labor known to man ; to be avoided at all costs ) . God has no mercy on " stupid " . Stupid hurts and serves to weed out all non hackers !

Goodykos snuck in yesterday and changed his original post.
We've all had our bad days! But I can almost guarantee you, if you use good common sense, good communication skills, be professional, keep cool, be a good team member, work hard and have a "Can Do" attitude, you should be treated a heck of a lot better and be a well respected employee.
Good luck to you.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I would much rather see you vent here than on the road.

Or worse yet. Going into the office with an AK47.
Just hope some of us were able to knock some sense into him. Looks like we did. -
If you add up all the drivers that can't overnight in a day cab, will shut down instead of chaining up, won't single on a flat tire, park and call breakdown for the smallest issue, it's a wonder any freight ever gets delivered.
