Selling my house, and buying new house, so this was the time I set aside to get the contracts and financing done. Stressful enough without slow weeks to deal with . I was on my way to Murray Thursday nite when I got caught in the blizzard on 57 south of Chicago.
Ended up having my M/T trailer getting blown into the hammer lane twice at a 50deg angle before I was able to get the rt tires holding on top of the rt rumble strips while I waited 3hrs for traffic to start moving didnt get to Murray ended up getting a load back to Richmond Friday morn. Heading back out Thursday and staying out till the closing in Jan. Blue Skies everyone.

I had a great week deciding to stay out over Christmas. I finished the week with 3716 miles for the week. The miles were good, but I started getting sick Christmas eve and was sick all week. Being sick sucks period, but being sick OTR really sucks. I got home Saturday morning, and immediately went to a Doc in the box to get checked out, he gave me some antibiotics so hopefully I will be on the mend soon. Hope all of you have a safe and productive week. Happy New Year!
-
Good to hear you got checked out, yea road sickness is the worst. Me I'm usually around 2400-26 a week cause I go home weekly living right in Richmond. But all is good, load planners can be slow at times
-
I actually had the beginning stages of divriticulitis (spelling) so I'm usually pretty stubborn about going to the doctor, but I'm glad I went. As far as the lack of pre planning and slow load planners....... that is really my only complaint thus far. I will also be glad when the get away from this regional dispatch and we get assigned dispatchers.
-
i guess the rest of you guys had to find your own transportation to orientation, right? is that the norm for abilene? just curious........
-
Yes, thats the way they do it. I don't agree with it, but oh well.1catfish Thanks this.

I was assigned a dispatcher named Will Smith the first two weeks were the worst miles since I started driving 10yrs ago. Eat more fiber for the Diverticulitus.
-
When did they assign you a dispatcher? I was told yesterday once they finish the renovations at the office all dispatchers will be located at the main office instead of being split between the main office and the museum.
Thanks for the fiber tip, I have been doing a lot of research on the illness.
I picked up a load off the yard last night, it has 3 stops. I'm sitting in Zanesville, Ohio about 15 miles from my first drop tomorrow. Once I get that off I will head to Cincinnati and then final out in Marshall, Mo.. Hope everyone has a safe and productive week.
