Im set to start orientation in a few weeks after reading all the negative post I have to say I am having second thoughts. I also heard that JBS make their drivers lump most of their loads. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true. Also what are your average miles per week? Is this forced dispatching.

Drivers do not lump their own loads, unless you want to be paid a ridiculously cheap mount for it! It is forced dispatch, only New York City and the five Burroughs are not forced, you can refuse them.

They do give you a little training for the Qualcomm, also give you a information sheet on how to use it. You pretty much have to play around with it til you get the hang of it. JBS pretty much hires all the time. It's like a revolving door. They usually have about 20-25 recruits coming in for orientation every week. Out of those, they usually hire from 5-10 people. Which means that there are between 20-40 people each month they hire which in turn means...... They have to have a lot of people going out the back door too! Figuring just the 5 people a week would be 260 people at the least. Just sayin......

Not a whole lot of info on JBS in this forum. That tells me that they must be OK. Through my time reading this forum/threads it appears that you find more posts from disgruntled drivers. So....if not much information on a long time established company (JBS Carriers), they must be doing something right. Having said that...I read where they are "testing" and considering mounting recordable cameras in the truck cabs. BUMMER! Don't know as of this posting if they have decided to implement "the evil eye" or not. Of course their position is that "it protects the drivers". Yeah, right...LOL! What a bunch of bull. But seriously...not much info on an established company must mean good things. (Other than the camera issue). Just my thoughts.

Well, Dinomite seems to be the one with the answers on JBS. He used to post most every day, but has gotten more sporadic. You might get some answers about their change in operations from PM to him.

If you got the job and refuse or complain about 300 mile trips watch out for the cattle tic filled mattresses placed in your company truck when the tractor goes in the shop in Greeley, Colorado.....horrible company. Do the short trips and trips with no time on them with e logs you'll be ok with them. sorry about your choice of companies.
