I understand your trainers position. My only thought is this. I trained in a company truck and the biggest check I got was 1800. And that had a carryover load from the previous week. Since I have been leasing, my biggest regular week was $3300. Thats alot to just "give away" per month. But whatever works for you)

3100 miles a team is crazy --- thats not even a good week for me solo ---- but we are allowd to turn down loads and some guys get in the habit of running just were and when they want and they know it and treat them accordinally -- and cabwrecker its allmost like working for a different company when your an o/op right from day 1 --- and after you get your year in and stay with them its better from what i hear -- they baisically have a mortgage on you till you get a year so they can abuse you a little after that your a free agent with a good csa score so they will naturally treat you as such -- i had a load to hunts point last summer that i interchanged with a guy in new jersey -- he picked it up in plainview and said his air conditioner was broke for a week and thats as far as he could go without it working-- after he milked all the easy miles he could

Hunts point is not fun, but it's no nightmare. I find San Fran to be worse, frankly.
whats more is, just like LA most loads coming from NYC are heavy in miles. Not to long ago got a load going from hunts to excell out in Fontana CA. -
headed to tacoma off hometime cabwrecker ---- talk to me before you take a job under .38 a mile i might have a deal for you that just might work out
-
Haha you and I both know, once I'm done here I'm done with OTR in general (famous last words.) Funny that you're going home, I'm headed home myself- I figure being out for 14 solid weeks is enough. Though this awesome thought process that the double drop I'm working, and have to go 1,350 miles for the first drop in a singluar day is a bit of brilliance only possible with FFE.
You know what they say- we finnaly found employement -
you could drive my truck from may to november make a lot more $$$$ i have a summer non driving job that i want to take but ends last of october and dont want to give truck up

Does FFE use Qualcomm because I never see the dish on the back of any of there trucks like most other companies?
-
-
FFE uses People Net, which has the same function as Qualcom. No bubble, but small cellular like antenne.
-
I'm leasing with FFE now. One thing that I have noticed is there are drivers who turn down more loads than they accept. Turning down loads will have you getting no where quick. Even though as an owner operator we have the ability to turn down a load I would suggest taking the load and seeing if you can get some miles on the other end of the trip. To each their own though.
jomar68 Thanks this.
