ticketed 4 off truck route over 5 ton Fontana CA HELP

I am going out to my truck to look at my regs book to find the info on that. BRB.

 

Here it is:

395.2:
Driving time means all time spent at the driving controls of a commercial motor vehicle in operation.

Kinda plain and simple explanation to me.
I was told by TWO carriers that any time you are driving a commercial vehicle, whether personal use or not, had to be on line #3 since you are in fact....DRIVING and according to the regs and the above definition of driving.

I worked for a big freight co., when we would get to the hub, even if we were out of hours, we could bobtail to the motel, off our log, or go eat or whatever, we were logged off duty when doing so.

I am not logs either, but let me fill in for her. Log it legal guys. Allow 2 hours to unload. If you run out of hours have your truck towed. Sorry logs, feeling kind of onery today!
