Anyone interested in running as a team? This proposal was offered to me but I had to decline due to the other driver smokes.
I actually think it would be a good idea to run as a team. Seems to me if two people hustle, each could make more money.
I'd would like to see if someone would take me on. I'm a quick learner and a hustler. I rarely go home. I run legal. I have no accidents or tickets for the 3.5 years I've been driving OTR.
Well, it's worth a shot. Thought I'd at least ask.
I live in Central Texas.
Thanks

Doesn't your company have a non-smoker driver who could team up with you?
-
I need to find the company first. Lol The holidays make the searching process a little difficult. Having no car hauling experience isn't helping either.

Well truth is if two driver can work together they can make a good living while helping each other stay. as far as running legal, When I run team I still believe in driving while alert and sleeping when your tired. I run more like 5 and 5 then log 10 and 10. To me it seems to work better. Good luck becareful choosing your driving partner, your life is in there hands.

Compatibility is a must... and sure... the freight moves quicker..
However, I can do the same miles solo if the miles are there for the same or close to .. Pay
edit: a team gets paid say .38 cpm x 5700 miles a week divided by two -
38 cpm is 1980s wages...I retired from Jack Cooper and can tell you that REAL car haulers are a different breed and do not like " sleeper operation ".... Loads are very personal and no two people do it the same...Jack Cooper learned this the hard way ....They bought 9 Freightliner sleeper ( cabover ) 10 car 65 ft. Cottrells in the eighties primarily to run cars from Fairfax ( Kansas City Ks. ) to the East coast and Chevy Astro vans from Baltimore back West....It was a nightmare ....Fist fights and drivers leaving the truck and flying home was the norm.....It NEVER worked

old tex
i can only imagine, my truck is too small for me, much less a stranger to add -
how do teams pay? just divide by 2 or what?

A blast from the past. I rememeber when Cooper tried that fiasco. Sleeper teams running the Buick Skyhawk/Olds Firenza traffic out of KC. I believe they diverted traffic off the rail at a reduced rate to GM.
That didn't last long.
