HAZMAT endorsement. How much of the charts, classes of materials, etc are on test?

I want to add the HAZMAT endorsement to my CDL learner's permit and am currently studying the DMV manual. It seems to be very detailed and every sentence seems like a test question. How specific are the test questions as far as the charts and similar? This seems like a nightmare of a test, although I do see the need to know this stuff!!

I'ts not a hard test. Go to some of the online test sites and take it. Also I think there are tests on here.

In Cali Fornia the hazmat test was like 16 easy questions. No problem!

you can get free on line tests for haz mat they are very helpful, some of the questions are rather hard. the test is how i lost my endorsement for 90 days. 2 drivers could not pass test, my boss told me to take them to the test site and help them. i did help them and got caught helping them. on the spot 90 day suspension. we stopped at the tavern on the way back it it was like magic did not feel so bad about the whole deal. lots of luck on your test

In my opinion, the test was so easy that if you didn't pass it I wouldn't want that person hauling hazmat around me anyway. Take that for what you will, just what I think. Just take the practice tests online and you will not miss any questions.

It's a test of common sense. They reword the answers to screw you up. It's kindof like "If your hauling fuel, how many cigarrettes would you throw out the window"? A 1, B 6, C 9, D 0. If you go slow and think about what they are asking, you'll do good. I think I missed 1 on it. YYou can't get in a hurry.

I took mine a few weeks ago. Take the practice test/quizzes a few times on this website, read the manual once or twice, and go take the test.

Thanks for all the input. I studied for the other parts to get my permit and had absolutely no problem at all. It just seems like looking at all the hazmat charts, classifications, etc, that they could really make it difficult if they wanted too. I havent looked at the practice tests for that section yet, but they were very helpful for the other parts. Barely got any wrong after reading the manual a couple of times.

I was just curious cause I do not want to fail anything, ever, and strive to be prepared as I can be.

Many of the questions on the test are the exact same questions in the practice test on this website...
