Well, I'm at the yard right now and there is a whole bunch of snow so dress warm, you'll be outside practicing in the yard. Orientation is a whole bunch of paperwork, a real quick road test, and a skills test in the yard, which you'll practice all week. Breakfast and lunch paid for, dinner reimbursed up to $10. Then trainer assignments.

Good news, moved into my new truck 1479, has an APU. Bad news, no load until Monday which picks up in Beaver Dam, WI going to Fontana, CA for the 3rd. Shawn is working tomorrow so he's gonna try to get me something between now and then, but I'm not holding my breath. Besides, I wouldn't mind watching the Packers game on Sunday. Be safe all.

Most of the H.O.Wolding trucks I see in New England are OLD JUNK, Short Nosed Internationals & Freightliners with TINY FLAT TOP Sleepers. They seem to run heavy, maybe Poland Springs Water Loads. Doesthe company run hi rise condo's ? Or just the small flat top Sleepers?

The smaller trucks are for northeast regional, the water runs as we haul up to 50k out of there. The condos we have are for trainers and teams. As far as I know, we only have 3 internationals, we are predominantly Freightshakers. We have a BUNCH of new trucks out in the yard right now waiting for new owners.

Sorry to hear about downtime. Enjoy game. Thx for tip. I lived in limestone for awhile, so no stranger to cold, though assuming Wisconsin will be a wetter cold due to the lakes. How are they about autoshifting vs double clutching?

No worries, doing a little local work today to get used to the new ride. Supposed to be in the negatives up here in a few days. Double clutch for your road tests and everything, but when you're on your own, you can do as you please.

Happy New Year's from Lincoln, NE! Off on my maiden voyage to California with the new ride. Loving the APU and the bunk heater. Not loving how I already have to get something fixed. Fueled up in Clive, IA and made it 100 miles down the road and my fuel gauge starts tweaking out. Going anywhere from 3/4 tank to below 1/4 the rest of my drive before finally settling on empty. Called Luke, said it was probably the float assembly in the tank and to just get it fixed at a TA or Petro, and to not run out of fuel. I'll probably get it done in Rawlins, WY as that's where I aim to end my day tomorrow.

Solid week for pay last week, all things considering, managed 2613 paid miles and probably around 2200 this week. With me finally getting settled into the new ride, I can finally get going again. Be safe out there.

Happy New Years everyone!! Sorry I haven't had time to check in for a while. Been busy driving! :biggrin_255: Hey Weeble how do they tell you that your changing out trucks? Did they give you advance warning or did you just show up in Amherst and they say hey here's your new truck? I'm wondering when they will be giving me a new truck. My wife starts her training with a local driver named Jeff tomorrow. Another 2-3 weeks and she will be with me. We will need a Condo when that time comes so I know I will be getting something new. I'm just wondering when and how that happens. I'm set up to pick up a load tomorrow that goes to Stevens point. I know I'm close to the yard so I'm sure I'm going to run through there maybe this week for the new truck?

Hey Bram where did you pick up in Mchenry? That town is just down the street for me when I'm home. Would be a great load for me to grab when I'm leaving my house from a weekend. I'm getting a General mills load tomorrow that takes me about an hour to get there from home.

So with having 4 days off with Christmas I ended up putting in about 1500 miles last week. I'm in for about 1000 already this week with a day and a half off here for New Years. I didn't ask for the time off this time it just worked out that way. It's all good gives me a chance to reset here at home so I can run hard this next week. I got home on Sunday with a load that delivered Monday at Glenview, so my wife and I took it there. This is the second time in my 8 years of driving she has been in a truck with me. We took the dog also so it was a good fun experience for all 3 of us. As I was getting back to my home yard Shawn calls me, That's the first time he called me on the phone. He had a hot pick up I had to grab and T-call with another driver in Racine who was out of hours. The load picked up in Glenview!! It was 2 miles away from where we just delivered! So back we went. My 3+ hour delivery turned out to be a 9 hour day and 200 miles. I'll be curious to see how much of that I get paid for. The miles from my house to Glenview it's about 40 miles I'm guessing I wont see any of those miles. So I'll probably only get paid for half of the 200? We'll see. Anyways I hope everyone has a great 2013!! Be safe out there!!:biggrin_25525:

I knew a couple of weeks in advance. They'll probably keep you in your current truck until you two finally go team.

Low of 0 tonight in Rawlins, WY. Gonna run the opti idle with it this cold, plus a 35 mph wind makes for a chilly night.

Delivered today in Fontana. Had de-layer today as it's around 70, definitely wasn't ready for it. Got a preplan, broker load picking up in Irvine going to Greenwood, IN for Monday morning. Picked it up but I'll have to swap with someone at some point as I'm a few hours short. Hopefully I'll swap with someone going back out west, which I think is what we're trying to do.

Spending the night in Gallup, NM and then waking up bright nd early and heading up to Pratt, KS where I'll be switching this load with another driver and I'll be heading right back to Fontana to the same place I delivered to yesterday. It delivers on Tuesday morning so I'll have the hours to do so. I'm getting lucky because Tuesday is my birthday and I'll get to spend it with my lady. Hope everyone is having a great week.
