That was one sweet truck jugg, thanks for the pic, I found an 87 pete cabover in the paper one time, it was painted purple, duel stacks, big sleeper, $13,000, if I had the money I would have bought it for a project truck if nothing else, those good old cabovers are becoming rare.
I'm a big fan of cab overs are you?

On the other hand, for the price of a new 379 peterbilt, a fella can own his entire fleet.

I agree I'm into hot rods and muscle cars and I'd love to get a big bunk pete cabover to hot rod

The last 9670 COE listed looks like the hot ticket, '98, air-ride NON-EMISSION motor, and Eagle interior. $38.5k may seem like more than the truck's worth, but the darn thing looks cherry! The guy posted a bunch of pics, check 'em out for yourself!

Thanks for that, that truck is very sharp, I love cabovers, I guess its just the kid in me, thats what dad drove all the time I was growing up, I could look at them all day, I would love to get a cabover pete and restore it, mabey run it a couple days a week in my retirement, give me something to do. I sure do love those cabovers!!

Yeah, I hear you. That sounds like a fun hobby!
I would like to get one for many of the same reasons you mentioned; plus, with some of these new businesses, it seems like the designers have forgotten how big trucks actually are. Spots like that, a COE can make your day a lot easier! -
I own a 99 Argosy. the best investment i ever made. I plan to keep it going as long as possible.

I grew up in the 70's also and cabovers are cool. I drove them when I worked at the International dealership we would test drive them after repairs. When I worked at Wal*Mart drivers would complain that the cabovers were to hot because of the doghouse. When they got the International conventionals the complaints stopped. They would also complain about crossing over the doghouse to get into the sleeper compartment. Any others had these problems???????

I drove for JB Hunt in the early 90's and that is all they ran. The International 9700 series (if memory serves me). The 1 with the set back axle anyway.
In 1997 or so International came out with a flat floor version which was awesome! I am a big guy at 6' 2" and could literally do jumping jacks in the thing and not touch the ceiling! I was a trainer for them for 3 years and with the double bunk set up we both had plenty of room to stretch out with a huge amount of storage space directly above the seats.
I especially liked the maneuverability of them. I could back that truck into some places that guys with long hoods couldnt hope to without damaging their truck.
Was sorry to see International stop producing them here in the US.
Btw that freightliner argosy looked AWESOME! Makes me want to go buy it and try being an o/o again! -
When did Freightliner stop producing the argosy? I like the Freightliner Argosy and late 90's Kenworth K100. If my memory serves me correct, Kenworth produced the K100 to 97.
