CJR...my girl does taxes...I can have her check for you to see if she has any advice. North Carolina is your resident state right?

Did you get a load out of Texas?

Yes Nc. And no still sitting at this f ing truck stop. Dispatcher says he is working on it. I told him I will take anything I just hate not being productive. Got the truck pretty clean though.

Find the tax rate for your home state and take out that much as a percentage each check.

    Airborne Thanks this.

CJR...here is what she sent me: State Tax for N.C. is not a flat rate but based on income tax tables (like the IRS) based on how much you made. The starting point for the computation of North Carolina taxable income has changed from federal taxable income to federal adjusted gross income (per their booklet on the internet).

Guideline for single filers: $12,750 and less 6%
    $12,750 to $63,000 $765 + 7% for anything over $12,750
    $60,000 and over $4,072.50 +7.75% for anything over $60,000

    Hope this helps..

Sorry about you having a hard time getting out of Texas sooner....I remember the recruiter saying they go to Texas but it is difficult getting a load out of there.
