Hello all, I have been thinking about getting into a trucking school for some time now to get my Class A, I have my Class B with Air permit which I got on my own but I am having a hard time finding some one with a truck to take the road test on. Have any of you guys on here gone to a school in or near Chicago, Il. Any suggestions on places that you guys loved going to or places I should steer clear of? I would prefer in the city but if a good place has some kind of housing that's a bit out of the city my ears are open as well.
Thanks in advance guys!

I graduated blue horizon school. but that was back in 06. I would recommend it if it's still functioning. and it's in the city too. Also I got some kind of discount for having a permit obtained before the school.

Stay clear of Chicago training and Chicago companies. Every Chicago based driver I see trucking around is a menace and a disgrace to trucking.

You can find many different trucking schools by searching online. Most of them offer you the job after graduation. Check Academia Truck Driving school and Blue Horizon truck driving school. They are most popular in Chicago land area.
If you decide to become auto transport driver, make sure to contact car shipping companies first. They will offer you classes and help you to get the certification. -
They are what you call menace and disgrace, not because of the lack of good trucking schools but because they choose to be for you know what reasons. Eliminate speed limitation and elogs at Swift Prime and CREngland-and that is going to be time when you see real menace)))))))
