They came out of Atlanta Rod and Mfg. up in NE GA, didn't they? I had a similar load, same issues when I left home in Nov. I actually had a box that was shrink wrapped on top of a pallet of the building anchors that got wet in a storm and disintegrated. Plastic covers for the bolts went everywhere. The guys at the job site were cool about it though. I just picked up what was left and threw them in my floor board. They built a crate when I got there and all was copacetic.

About to head to Galveston to pickup an excavator. My first oversize load. This ought to be fun.
Speedemon1084 Thanks this. -
DJ.. you rolling it on a step or an RGN? I got my first official RGN lesson today in Gville... pretty easy actually.
i did finally got rolling yesterday... kind of. I made it to Gville by 10a and was told the RDE trailer needed the ABS equipment fixed... but it wouldn't be done until later that evening. So, that meant I wouldn't be picking up the load yesterday. This morning I did the equipment check and such and rolled to Garland, getting there around 10a or so. Well their crane was being worked on and was told "it'll be a while." They also have the preloaded FE trailer blocked in by other trailers and equipment (we all know how tight this place is as it is). But, when all that gets cleared out itll be interesting to see how the logistics of swapping trailers works out. The part thats 17' tall is on the back on the FE trailer and needs to be at the front of mine.
At this rate, and with my luck, I suspect i'll be sitting in Garland or nearby tonight. -

Mystikal, it is just on a step deck. I don't think I can pull an RGN right now.
It was different having to actually drive the equipment and load it myself. Never did that before. Don't think I did too bad of a job for my first time.

Are you still a 99 or did you get your level 0? I rolled an RGN at level 0 and hauled a 55k excavator out of Galveston over the 4th of July. I didn't get to load it though... another driver went in and pulled it out of the port for me since I didn't have my TWIC at that time. Unfortunate I didn't get to load it, I know. lol.
Finally got moving yesterday, but not far. I was finally able to leave Garland around 1230 after my permits got in and had paperwork in hand. Fought DFW traffic, weighed, then made it to Marietta, OK before having to shut down. Rolled out first thing this morning and not more than 40 miles and I blew a tire. Thankfully it blew at the exit with the loves in Pauls Valley. Finally shut down tonight at the NB scale just south of Olathe, KS. Supposed to meet a pole escort tomorrow at the MO/IA line to be escorted through IA and, with any luck, I can make it just south of MSP tomorrow before sunset... but given how this load has been since last monday... i'm not holding my breath. Reading the chain of emails forwarded to me by my DM.. i'm not the only one that feels this way! -
good stuff man. oh, your dm sucks. He's probably better for his regular drivers though.

After nearly 9 months with him i've grown accustomed to his methods... however unique they might be. However, I still have to call WAY too much for my liking when electronic means could reduce both our workload... and my cell bill.
