How can you miss 3 half walls in what is essentially a warehouse called an office building?

 

Some might miss the part where you're home every night. That is why I waited until this point in my life to consider the OTR thing.

 

Gotcha, not for everyone, but I was home every night with a local gig and got bored as almost every day was same route.

 

I am starting on 7 Jan as well, Gary for flatbed.

 

I will see you then cheflee as the 7th is my last day here but I'm sure I'll be in the lovely Inn of Hammond at least one more day before assigned a trainer.

 

Day 4 of Gary (not flatbed) training. Didn't post yesterday as I was busy. Cold & windy. Great backing and close maneuvers practicing the last 2 days. We'll get out of the yard tomorrow when those #### hair follicle test come back. In hindsight, I bet Roehl regrets starting us on 12/31 because it is taking so long to get those results. I know the trainers are getting edgy, my trainer really wants to get us on the road. So do I! Trip planning homework, read the DRG, fill in those log books.

 

Pretty much "ditto" for down here in Ellenwood! (Other than we did finally get out on the road this afternoon.)

 

I start Jan 7 in Gary for Van. I was supposed to go to appleton but there were no spots left. How are the trainers Rotorhead in Gary?

 

marriedtrucker, you will be in good hands. I am impressed with the trainers while you are actually driving, backing, and doing close maneuvers. My trainer is very supportive and laid back and knowlegeable. They really KNOW their stuff. The classroom/paperwork stuff is OK, the safety talk by the director of operations is good, too.

 

Except it's about 40 degrees warmer Nottoway!! Makes those pre trips focused when it is 10 with a wind chill here in suburban Chicago.
