I could write a 3 page responce, but to save y'all from being killed by bordem,
Governed trucks save fuel costs, as well as other expences from running the equipment too hard.
why do drivers stand for governed trucks?

I will have no problems with governed trucks.
Getting to a destination safely with low miles sure beats not getting there at all with Zero miles. -
1st of all...I can't count how many trucks pass me all day long NOT once but MULTIPLE times a day and the at the end of the day....
They're eithe pulling into the place I'm parking at when I arrive or after..
So much for a fast truck...fland Thanks this. -
there is governing, then there is stupidity. i passed a group of 5 trucks running nose to tail in crashville yesterday. mine used to be wide open, but they noticed it has the "cold start knock" so they turned it down to 73.
anyway, i passed that group and was headed home (chattanooga) from bowling green. i stopped at the 98mm at the shell truckstop for a steak biscuit and a drink. i goofed off in there for maybe 15 to 20 minutes then continued on home. about 10 minutes after i pulled out, i caught and passed that same group of 5 still running nose to tail. they were stuck at 61 mph.
anyone who goes down I24 knows the flow of traffic is 75 if not 80. 61 is #### near deadly. sometimes setting the speed down that low is just plain dangerous.EZ Money and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
I run Florida at least twice a month......a 63 mph truck is a road block going down 95 or 75.
80 mph and the FL cops rarely look at you and cars are still passing.
I would fall asleep going 63 all the time....
fortycalglock, Cowmobile and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
wait wait....I'll bet the place I'm delivering to is gonna be there when I get there no matter whether I'm driving 64 or 75. Whaddya think?
fland Thanks this. -
drvrtech77... see cadillacdude 1975's reply after yours. Steady 61 passes a "souped up" 73...there's new math for ya.

I am one of them that pass you multiple times a day but the reason is I run alot of shorthaul loads and in this day I passed you mutliple times I ran 2 loads that paid me $1000 while you have made $190 for the day as you just cruise down the road at 55mph. Not everyone is able to putt putt for their $.35/mile since some operations are different. Glad I am an owner op and not forced on governed trucks.
-
delivered 4 loads in one day. Got paid $1600 for 8 hours work.
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
Dang right,
In my case i throwd off a stop, passed the same trucks and and put off another and pass them again.
Key drops that take me 10 to 15 minutes and back rolling.
I do this and turn 800+ miles a day while those other guys are still crawling along at 60 mph.
When they are hunting a spot to sleep i am hammering to the house.
I get paid by the mile,by the stop and by the weight. So the more i haul the more i make.volvodriver01 Thanks this.
