Looking to hear what others think of CRST..

I recommend Swift to everyone getting started in trucking.

 

The only Swift terminal in NY is in North Syracuse. Actually the closest Swift terminal to you is in Jonestown, PA which is about 2 hours away from Long Island. Call their recruiting department at 866-437-3050. If you watch trucking videos on YouTube, look for BigCatTrucker. He had success at Swift. He started trucking there and about a year later, Swift made him a truck with his name all over it. Not actually "his", just a company truck.

 

I too am checking companies out and doing research and this is a good info site as well as trucking truth.com.Companies that I have found out for us starting into trucking are pritty much the same rules and training wise ect. Swift,Stevens Transport,USA Truck,Pam Transport,Knight,Rohel,Werner,Prime and Schneider all are ok.I know that at Schneider and Werner you have to have your written CDL permit before going to there school ect. Schneider is a really good company to work for too I've found out.U.S.Express is good to also need permit to go there same with Millis who is also good. iT IS TRUE ABOUT CRST I also thought about them and no way would I go there I also found out that they lost there license to opperate in Oregon from violations and they do screw students over alot.What ever you do don't go to CRST run away from them. I have also been told CREngland will screw you to force you to lease a truck then put you in debt. and not give you any miles but there contract is only 6 mos. They wanted me but I declined specially when they wanted to rush me into going to there school within 3 days after talking to a recruiter.They called my the day after Christmas wanting me to start school on New Yrs. Eve.I have heard very good things about Stevens and Swift Prime is also good.I hope this info helps you out just check or apply too the companies I mentioned with the exception of CREngland and CRST cross these two off your list.Brad.

 

I agree! We average 5500 a week by choice. As for going to CRST, They only have a 8 month contract. I would never go to them. I was waiting on a load in Ca and one of their trucks pull in to get loaded. I saw 3 people pile out of that truck. WTH! They are also in trouble with CSA. Driver beware

 

Please dont drive for CRST! Unless you like getting financially handled.

 

Schneider no longer has a school or training academy to attend. You have to go on Schneiderjobs.com and click the button which gives you an option to choose the state you live in. It will direct you to schools and training academies in your area that are accredited by them.

 

All I can say about CRST is go to the safer web sight and look at their safety rating. If you see what I saw you'd run, run, run. But you have to decide for yourself.
