My truck has the ICON idle control, like the "opti-idle" on FL's. It usually works, for a while. I mean it will cycle like its supposed to, but after a couple of hours, it will just stay running. I've woke up a couple of times with it so hot in there I couldn't stand it. The t-stat in the bunk flashes "E3" when this happens. Another oddity is that I've lost track of how many times I'll get up in the morning and the headlights and clearance lights will be on, with the switch off. It doesn't bother me, but I'm sure the driver parked across from me doesn't dig it...I don't care about the endless idle, but it does gobble up fuel and defeats the purpose. Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure your wipers aren't on, even the slowest intermittent speed. As a safety feature, the lights come on with the wipers. So if you leave the wiper switch on, the first swipe the wipers take will turn on the lights.

I'm having the same problem with my opti idle. The first cycle it works as it should. When it fires the truck up after the first shutdown I only get ambient temp air out of the back, but the heat works up front. Even after the tstat shows it has reached set temp the truck keeps running. Will not shutdown until I turn off the key. The lights being on has happened to me once. Wipers were off.

I'm glad I'm not alone then. I'm making a delivery this morning, then headed for home time, so I think I'll drop the old girl off at the dealer. It also has some other minor issues, so I'll get everything fixed at once.
