    General information

The fault code is not saved in the control unit and can only be read when the fault is active.

    Fault code

    FMI 14

    • Conditions for fault code:
    • If the ESP is shut off, this is indicated by a fault code.
    • The vehicle's lateral acceleration differs too much from the limit value.
    • If the vehicle is driven on poor roads, so that the ESP cannot determine the vehicle's direction of motion accurately, this is indicated by a fault code.
    • Normally when this fault code is reported, other ESP-related fault codes are also reported.
    • Possible cause:
    • ESP turned off with VCADS.
    • The vehicle is driven on a poor road.
    • Trailer detection shut off with VCADS.
    • The retarder pressure sensor gives a faulty value.
    • Another ESP-related fault follows this temporary fault report.
    • Reaction from the control unit:
    • ESP is deactivated.
    • Noticeable external symptoms:
    • Yellow warning lamp.
    • Appropriate check:
    • Activate ESP using VCADS.
    • After activation, turn the ignition off and on to engage activation.
    • Check other EBS fault codes.
