Hello everyone, I live in Windsor Ontario and want to start trucking, Thinking on going with OTDS. I want to either drive tractor trailer or if possible seeing theres a bit of construction going on now become a dump truck driver. School for tractor trailer costs $8000 and with dump truck training its about $9500 my question is, do I really need to do the extra dump truck training because when I checked the ministry of transportation Ontario is said class A and D as in together. Could I just do training for tractor trailer and just do an extra test for D license? Im really confused here, need some help. Thank you

If you get you AZ you can drive a DZ vehicle.
$8,000 is CRAZY and the $1,500 on top of that is rape>call the cops! -
yeah its quite expensive but it seems to be the trend with all of the schools, i really wanted to have an option of dump truck so if i dont need to pay that extra for training that would be sweet. Also they may provide some sort of discount due to me paying out of my pocket, hopefully

wow, thats a lot of money. last I heard it was around $6000 for A-z in KW area
-
I have before, but that is 3 hours away from windsor, I didnt find pricing information but I cant be driving 3 hours before and after class everyday, too much and booking hotels 5 nights a week adds up too
-
Yeah it is very pricy, It would be nice if it was half that I wouldnt think twice. btw. CLass A in ontario you can drive dump trucks too correct?
-
If the pricing was half and you could stay there for $1000 you'd be money ahead. Maybe they have a "deal" at a local motel for out of town students.
You're making this sound like you don't want to do it unless it's on YOUR terms. It costs nothing to inquire! -
yes, class A is above D. D is straight truck,Want2BTrucking Thanks this.

In the end staying out of town will not be very economic, And I know #### well it isnt half that, its possibly the same if not more, Eitherway staying at a cheap hotel all those nights requires living costs, food ext. so not a practical option, it isnt MY terms, its just not logical. Thanks anyway Ralph
