Bottom line: The Prime lease program sets the bar of success at a very high level. So high that most are not able to get over it. I do believe that one can do as well as a company driver and perhaps slightly better with the program, but there will be much more headache involved. The Prime lease program is one of the better programs out there, but it does have its less than desirable aspects, in my opinion. FWIW, this is the lease program that I would probably choose, should I ever consider becoming a L/O.

I totally agree with you. they expect you to get out there and take care of business like a businessman. Not like some little kid that wants everything handed to them and to go perfect.

The warning banner for the Prime forum has been removed and now all hell will break loose.

Edit: ohh, I'm in the wrong forum. :tard:

Its all in how you look at it. there is more responsibility and also more reward i think. just like IP and some of the other guys say, you only get out what you put in. somebody that wants to go out for 2 weeks and then go home for 3-4 days. take alot advances. not go over their weekly settlements to make sure someone in payroll didnt make a mistake. spend all of their net profit on useless crap for the truck, going to titty bars, boozing it up, YOU NAME IT. we've all done it once or twice out here on the road. but somebody like that cant come out here and make it as a lease operator.

The Prime Inc lease has always been a screw job .. use up a driver lease. Stay away from them. Save $4000 and then get conventional financing or a TRAC lease.

the funny thing is is that you are BOTH correct

these companies are fleecing drivers, legally, with using a business model

same thing with fuel companies, electric companies, health insurance, everything we complain about the price is rising, these people are making money

the question of right or wrong never enters the picture, its more of a question of legal vs illegal and you can correct that simply by buying a politician or two

should robert L make money? of course, but should he do it off the backs of the working poor in the way he has been doing it?

should john rockerfeller have made billions in oil? of course, he too was a business man, but should he have done it the way he did it?

these questions and these example strike at the root of our society and its affecting us in every aspect

and the balance is somewhere between unbridled capitalism vs a socialistic approach

one could also ask why do we arrest pimps? they have a business model, they arent forcing anyone to do anything wrong, they too are businessmen, but we consider them the lowest of the low (except if they are Larry Flynt or Hugh Hefner)
