Started today. Did all the paperwork and was given shirts until my uniforms come in.
I love it here, everyone's laid back and real cool. We can choose to wear our uniforms or just the t shirt with the company logo on it if we don't want to wear the uniform.
I just left the doctor, got my new 2 year med card. I gotta be back at work at 130am, leaving at 2 for an Orlando run.

Yeah I made decent miles in van, I stayed out 24-30 days and ran all over the place. Just keep a good relationship with your dispatcher

DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Hey DrtyDiesel ,
Do you know why Roehl isn't hiring out of FL right now ? I'm graduating from FTI in Palm Coast (NE FL) and they said they're not hiring from FL at all..
Thanks -
Not sure, may be due to the freight slow down. I'm sure they will be hiring in February or march

I love reading about happy drivers with Roehl. I started with Stevens transport in 2011 in jan. left after training because they weren't all what they say they are. Then when with Schneider. I worked there for 7 months. That was a joke. I'd deliver a short 300-600 mile load then sit the rest of the day.
Now I'm with Roehl. And couldn't be happier. Before I even deliver my load I already have a new pre plan. Sometimes 2 at one time. Some loads are short but just depends on the time of year. Dispatcher is very nice. Glad I chose to go with Roehl. Maybe tryin flatbed soon. Just don't wanna lose my dispatcher :/pa musky and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
I know what you mean about losing a good dispatcher. I actually miss mine, he was awesome. Always kept me running, and when I'd sit for a long time he usually did something to compensate for it as in a long trip or extra home time when I needed it. He always got me home when I had legal stuff to do for my dads paperwork. I will miss working at Roehl.

Same here, often I do not have to be home, but I needed to get home for a Doc appt. yesterday. They got me home no problem, also with the dispatcher thing, I also thinks sometimes it's a crapshoot. I have two that switch off, one I did have problems with my first month with them, but after that none at all, they keep me going rarely have long wait times etc... I think the one was just actually feeling me out, seeing how I would run, and not be a problem, or like a new driver.

Drty:
So very sorry to hear about your dad and your needing to leave Roehl before I could get you a referral bonus
Sounds like you're a fellow who lands on his feet, though, and your new gig sounds like a winner.
Best of luck! -
Hey drty, you never mentioned what your new job is doing?
