Coca Cola Refreshments just bought out the independent coke bottler I work for in Sacramento. At coke I am a 16 bay sideloader driver and enjoy it. Now that CCR/CCE bought us out I don't know how it will be. My question to anyone out there that can answer it is, How is being a driver at CCR/CCE? How is the pay, management and work load? Will the change be good or bad?

ccr is part of ccna( coca cola north america) cce headquarters is in the u.s. but will take most of its business to europe. when we went from cce to ccr, we got all new trucks and 35 feet endloaders which replaced all the sideloaders. i don't think you'll see much change as a driver. but you mite managerial changes. i wouldn't worry to much. coke product is still coke product. lol
YOUNGSTER Thanks this. -

Thank you so much. When you worked there, how was the pay and hours? Did you have a lot cases and did you have to merch a lot?

i was paid 21.65/hr. i did about 15-20 stops wth a total of 500-600 cases.we are a union, so we were guaranteed 8 hrs even if we were done early. winter were slow and summers were busy. our drivers didn't merch stores. just put the product where manager/owner of stores wanted it. when i delivered to big chain stores (ralphs, albertsons, ect.) we would have to break down some pallets into the section in the backroom.if you were lucky, the merchandiser would be there to help. vons and gelsons are notorious for having a belt to move product upstairs where you needed help. most of the time othee drivers came to help since merchandisers always seems to dissappear. if i didn't scrrw up last year, i would still be there. loved the job.

like i said before. they got rid of the sideloaders and got new aotomatic trucks with a 35' endloader. each stop was put on a pallet and you use a electric palletjack to take off truck and put it near store door. any stores getting under 20 cs, product was put in thes racks where you use your handtruck to get it off truck. everyone i talked to love it when they got rid of the sideloaders.work was much easier and faster. as you know those baydoors are heavy. the guys who filll the coke machines were only ones now with sideloader. hope this helps
