Sweet. How did you like them? What's. the short course? I just remember the main course being like 4 or 5k
-
they were good helped me alot most of the training you lern quick they have some good and some decent instructors but the way i went about in the school was i did the manuvers and drove the truck on how i felt comfortable if there was somthing i needed then i would ask if you choose to go to netts they have a on road instructor by the name of denis who i tell you is great show you on how to shift proper somtimes he will kick the gears out of place for u so that u could lern how to get it back into the right gears they teach you downshift and everything u gonna use out in the real world plus when u go out for driving drills ur driving in the center of bridgeport witch i like because its the way your gonna feel when you get out there on your own
Puppage Thanks this. -

-
Yeah, that 10k kind of freaked me out. 4 k is much nicer. LOL
And, I like the idea of driving through Bridgeport. So, what was it like getting behind the wheel of a big rig for the first time?? -
it was a fun experience something that you will love from the first time shifting a truck to double clutching and taking wide turns is a big rush but ull have fun going on the highway was another fun thing i enjoyed somewhat nerve racking at first if trucking is the industry you wanna be in i say don't wait no time and get to it as soon as possible.

Try the produce markets; delivering fresh produce to grocery stores. Try the grocery warehouses & beer & soft drink beverage companies. Try the drybulk tanker companies that deliver dry bulk cement powder & flyash to the ready mix cement companies in the state.

He's right about the Northeast being rough for new new drivers at LTL companies. A lot of it is due to the massive inbound vs outbound freight discrepancy. Since there is so much more coming in than out, companies use outside carriers to move freight in from the west and south to curb empty miles. All the LTL companies do it although I think Con-way is worse than most.
Not sure exactly where you live in Ct, but most of the big companies have big hubs in Newburgh, NY and the Sprinfield, Ma area but all the other terminals are small end of line terminals in that region. End of line means they only handle their own freight - they don't act as a link between far apart terminals.
I've been at big and small terminals and know drivers at other companies that have done both and the bigger one is always better from a work standpoint.CenutryClass Thanks this.
