My trainer probably tipped the scales at 450 but I never heard him snore. Just the same I had thought to myself that he would be a candidate for OSA. Bottom line there is I'm still alive and survived my training period with him. I was always afraid he would have a heart attack while I was in the sleeper.

Best thing to do is call their recruiter and find out. I hear that Schneider International has a program for drivers that have sleep apnea. Best to talk to the recruiter anyway.

Prime has one as well, I don't believe they are enforcing a maximum BMI at this time, but the recruiters can answer this better than I can. If the doctor decides you need a sleep apnea test, they do it at the terminal during orientation. The recruiters can provide you with details on this. There is also a rather innovative wellness plan that won't cost you a thing if you go through the 13 week program - it's tailored for drivers, and get's you on a trajectory to get your weight in a healthy range.

Ip where do I find info on the wellness plan? I came through SLC and I have learned that I was pretty much jipped. I wasn't flagged for a sleep study, some of my orientation-mates were and their trainers had to take them to sprimo right away. I am extremely interested in losing weight, and just by changing eating habits since getting on the truck I've already lost 10 pounds.

Only my experience at Prime's orientation with regards to the Sleep Study.....

I totally anticipated a sleep study and a machine, but got lucky I guess. I'm 6'0" and a tad over 265. A 34 BMI and a 17" neck. The Doc must of had a good day and very busy because he asked me the normal question like, do you have problems sleeping, do you snore....etc...etc. Of course I was not going to admit anything...I just replied with a no. He said, ok and issued me my 2 year card and away I went.

Did you know that a 10% reduction in weight can lead to a 50% reduction in sleep apnea symptoms. http://www.rslweightloss.com/

It's actually quite easy to get rid of sleep apnea, if you willing to get the weight off.

I wish that were true in my case. I lost 30 pounds this year and still snore like a buzz saw;>)

Snoring is a different story, have you been checked for nasal polyps or other obstructive sinus issues? Also, did that 30 lbs get you to your goal weight? Congrats by the way to losing the weight!
