Well see you should be in CO instead of GA then... 1) the mech's at Henderson might be able to fix your bunk heater and 2) we could take you out for a cup of Joe

Arkansas Frost, that is a very insightful post.
This is the problem with over the road driving when you have a family:
You eat dinner at a truckstop, and at the exact same time your wife is preparing a meal for her and the kids. So the family is out 2 times the money for the meal.
You lay over for some reason and stay in a hotel. But you are still paying a mortgage so for those nights your family is out 2 times the money for housing.
Unfortunately, you are paying double for many of life's expenses.
The answer to this problem?
Watch as the freight picks up and the driver shortage comes back. You will see companies actively going after retirees (house is empty anyway) and also husband and wife teams.
With a husband and wife team, all the money going into the truck goes into the same family. One hotel stay takes care of both people. One microwaved meal feeds both people.
This is why team Klingon has all the money! -
Errrraaaaa.... Hate to say this.... If "Team Klingon" has/making all the money, the "LadyK" half of the team better cut loose with the ATM card.
Lady K Thanks this. -
LOL! You know me, I'm so tight with funds I squeak when I walk!!

Sounds like when I tell my wife that I'm not worried about her divorcing me. She seems to be getting more then half as it is now. I don't think she wants a pay cut.

I made a hobby of manipulating my clock. I'd rather take one day off or two short days to spread the recap out than to sit still for a day and a half. Of course with a broke bunk heater I'd be more willing to hang out at a terminal! Good luck.
