Man what is going on with freight lately it seems to be backwards, usually we are slow this time and the west is busy, but as far as I am seeing I am real busy for this time of year, I drive for a east coast company very similar to maverick, should be easy to guess, I have only been here for a few months but have been in flatbed all my life. I am still getting 2000 to 2500 and up, which I didnt expect for this time of year, I will say I have been seeing allot of mav's around lately. I hope it picks up for You guy's soon, hate to hear when flat freight is going slow, because it means so many other things, economy wise. Good luck to thoes who are changing over, and lets hope it picks up for all of us soon,.. Be Safe

Hey guys and gals! I currently working as a contractor in Kuwait untill September 08 and will give my left nut to work for Maverick lol. I talked to a recruiter the other day and was told that they no longer offer new driver training, which is cool with me and I would pay my own way for school. I have heard nothing but good things in the hours and hours and hours Ive spent going thru posts and company web sites. By far I have found this one to be most apealing. Im buying a house in Henderson TN and had heard that area was great for hiring. With that said, Im here to network with anyone within Maverick. Have a great day!!

Contacted recruiting yesterday, talked to Paul. Of course he had to push the glass division, and .44/mile sounds good, but if you look at their brocures on their website it states the glass haulers can expect to make $45k/1st year, while the flatbed division can expect $52/1st year?
Somethings not quite right. Does the .44/mile try to make up for lack of miles? Most people who have anything to say about the glass division
it. Also, I live on the extreme outskirts of the glass hiring area (Huntsville,AL), so hometime would be a MAJOR concern. Other hand, tho, the offer for the flatbed OTR division is .39/mile, CONSIDERABLY less base, but if the miles are not in the glass, then flatbed is the way to go.

The reason for the difference in wages from the website is because the .44 a mile doesent actually go into effect till jan 1.I dont know the reason nobody stays in the glass division.I had paul as a recruiter he wasnt that impressive. If you want hometime glass is not the way to go ask paul what is the schedule for the glass guys I beleive it is the same as long haul but I could be wrong.I will be home on friday so you can im me and I will try to give you any info I have and if I dont know I will find out.Notarps has been with them lomger then me so he may be a better resource then me.
