Thanks guys,
I talked to the tech where i ordered the radio. He said 8 AWG should be fine for that radio.Just be sure to use a quality copper wound wire.
Not the Chinese made junk.
I found some at a car stereo shop that they use to run those big stereo amps.
Did some looking at the truck and decided to run it from the battery under the cab, through a rubber grommet in the firewall and up the a-pillar to the overhead.
Fuse it at the battery and should be good.

Hope one of you guys can help! I think my radio may bit the dust! My radio was working fine till a couple days ago now I get almost no distance out of it. I can pick up signals good but my signal is so weak I'm doing good to be able to talk to a truck across the t/s lot. I get lots of static and humming. When I try to tune my antenna no matter what I do I get 1.0 on low and high or the needle just jumps all over the place. I have continuity at the mount and battery and I replaced my cable. Guess radio is fried! Any of u guys that could help would be much appreciated

I don't know that much about cb's so if you can help treat me as though I were a moron. Described above is the extent of my cb knowledge!

Since you have tried a different coax take a close look at the stud on the antenna mount.
Be sure that plastic ring is intact and the antenna is not grounding out on the mount,
Also check the back of the radio where the coax screws in to be sure it has not worked loose inside the radio.
Next step would be a bench test of the radio.
