Looks like I passed you up heading n-15......saw a lot of orange heading south, didn't see one going north into salt lake. I guess I can say, I was the only Pumpkin rolling with a hazmat load. Stopped last night at the Petro, now i'm at the flying J on the 15 @ exit 261

Turns out he was a 27 yr vet who still works for Schneider Transport. They gave him a 2009 Cascadia to replace his 2006 Century. It was such a mess inside that he took it to ATL and told them to clean it. When they half assed the cleaning job he told them to try again. Then they let him come back to Knoxville and pick up his old truck to use until the newer one is clean.

So I gave him a ride. It was nice to have someone to BS with for the 4 hour ride. Now I've decided I'm going to spend the night here at the Knoxville drop yard. It's a muddy lot on the top of a hill overlooking the city. It's me, him, and one other truck here. We are all spaced out so once I go to bed it will make for a nice quiet night.

Going this way to give him a ride put me 30 miles OOR. Will have to make sure I get that corrected tomorrow.

I like talking to the old timers in the company. Many of them say the same thing....when I asked them, how do you like Schneider? They say the same thing over and over: not as bad as other big companies, not as good as smaller companies. Honestly, all this small B.S. about the sensors and on guard is chicken crap after I saw a CR England truck with 3 guys in it last night at the Petro in Vegas. I was like WTF?!?!?!?? I guess we can complain but seriously, whats it going to do? A big company like this is going to do what its going to do. That's my opinion....worth nothing jack squat. Also another thing, anyone else have trouble with their EFS cards at Petro's, TAs, or Loves? My card was turned down today at a Loves just to pay for a scale ticket. :/ Went to the Pilot, worked just fine. Whats up with that? So I had to stop at a pilot to fill up, it was a slow day, but I could only imagine if I had to be on the run, this would of pissed me off.

You can only pay for scales with your fuel card at Pilot/Flying J. The card is rejected at Petro/TA and Loves and any of the smaller truck stops. You have to pay cash there and get an expense reimbursement. As far as fueling goes I believe most of the TA's/Petros are blocked. I think you can fuel at any Loves with the card and you definitely can fuel at any Pilot/Flying J with your fuel card.

Hmmm that's weird, because I was near Tulare at the Love's off the 99 in California and I had 2 scales tickets done there in a day with 2 different loads and I paid with the EFS card. I know we can fill up at the Loves but not at the TA's and Petro's. That sucks :/

I have used my EFS card to buy at loves. I've also been to a couple that told me when I walked in that they can't accept our cards. It seems to depend on the individual franchises. I can fuel at most any TA/Loves. Never been turned away for fuel. Not sure about Petros. There's only a few that worked with Comdata . Haven't been past any since the switch.

As for the guy I gave a ride to. He said the only reason he was still here was because of his 5 weeks of paid vacation time. If it weren't for that he would leave. At 27 years in the industry he would never get back to it before retiring so he's just going to stick it out. He uses the time to spend time with his son during the summer.
