I'm thinking of putting a truck on with wilson's in toronto. Does anyone have any experience with them. any miles?? they pay by the kilometer and cap the fuel at .43c. seems like a good deal but would like to know if there are many miles there. I see alot of NEW canadians pulling for them so is that a bad sign?
Wilson Truck lines???

One of my best buddies is a company man with them. They are in the third or fourth year of a 10 year contract with Metro Inc. They've been in business for over 75 years. Couldnt help you out much with the miles youd get, but seeing as half of there fleet are O/O's, thats a good sign..

thanks for the reply, i decided not to go on with them. I noticed that they are always looking for owner ops so thats usually a bad sign. I new a broker there years ago that eventually sold all 5 of his trucks and left. I think its just a mile shortage thing. but who knows
Get-r-Done Thanks this. -
Hey not a problem at all. Yes turnaround with brokers is never a good sign. Did you end up getting on anywhere? If so, how are you liking it?

i havnt started anywhere yet. I am seriously thinking about deck x. They have a lease plan that is NOT a never never plan. I was talking to them acouple monts ago and they sent me there package. step into a brand new truck, and after lease payment fuel your left with about 8 grand a month. That is even after a 6cpm that they keep from you and keep it in a maintenance fund for service and repairs not covered by warrenty. Looks attractive but have been holding back for now. cause im home everyday. they even pay your wsib and benefits. If i decide to take the plunge i will definetly keep posting the results...

Wow that sounds like a pretty good gig man....this coming from a company driver of 8 years, but the whole be your own boss and have your own truck is something that will never go away until i do it i think lol. Maybe search around or post about Deck x if you havent already, im sure theres a few guys on here that are tied with Transx that could possibly get you more info. Either way, good luck with whichever way you end up going driver. All the good numbers

I'm starting with TransX in a little over a week. I will be going with their lease plan that, after five years, I pay a single dollar and I own the truck. On the 21st, I go to Calgary for my drive test, drug test and two or three day orientation.
Considering what they pay for and what the lease operator pays for, it looks really good. The only thing the operator pays for is the fuel, and the company does the rest like permits, tolls, and such. Mostly pin to pin in Canada, but I hear you keep the trailer in the States. You get bonuses for your willingness to run certain areas.
They pay for loading and unloading and a bit more for produce loading and unloading, something like that.
I don't really want to say what they pay, just in case for competitive reasons, and I'm not a blab about such.
Just talk to one of their recruiters, and you'll get all this info.
My current company was freaking out that I wanted to leave, but they can't compete with TransX. They even tried to dangle a lease for a truck through them. Can't wait to get a truck with an APU, especially in the summer. -
What are you getting for a truck?
Good luck with the new job!! -
If you're asking me, it will be a 2013 Peterbilt 386.
450hp cummins ISX
13 speed trans
Power windows, locks, and mirrors
APU
Pretty well loaded.
Not bad for a little over $2500 a month. -
Hey I was wondering how things are going with TransX ? Ive already placed a call into them and was wondering if everything that you've done with them (ie. lease, miles, freight) is really worth it!
