SNI will keep you fairly busy and they do keep there word (pretty much) all in all you could do ALOT worse! Like going with Navajo.

Don't know why anyone would say to stay away from refrigerated; I did it for most of my career and made a very good living. With a dry van trailer, you can only haul dry loads. With a refrigerated trailer you can haul dry van loads or refrigerated loads. You generally will make more money with refrigerated, flatbed or tanker. That's all I can offer. Best wishes.

first, thank you for your service.
reefer downsides include longer wait times at receivers and a reefer unit that is quite loud when youre trying to sleep. i liked it just fine...a little extra pay didnt hurt much either.
cant tell you much about either company, tho. sorry. id say if ONE company is gonna get you that extra 1k per month, thats the one. with both companies you mention ive seen mixed reviews, so cant tell you "dont go to ...." like i could if youd said england or crst for instance.
you said schneider is offering the extra 12k? you will NOT be able to match the pay with the other company if they dont offer that as well. after 1 year of experience, youll know better where you want to be as far as companies that hire experienced drivers. -
thank you for the insight . however why would you say navajo is worse . im just looking for anything i might want to watch out for

Schneider is a good company to get your feet wet in trucking. They have good equipment and a good CSA score for safety. When I worked for them I had been out of trucking for three years. I choose them to get my experience level back up. They are safety minded and for the most part got me home as they promised. I made a good living for starting back out in trucking. I choose after three years to go to an LTL carrier for better home time and pay. I left them feeling good about the relationship.

Navajo has been around for a long time; very successful company.
System Transport in Denver(Commerce City area) is another strong company to look into. Can even see their trucks on Google map.
The "wait times" some are posting about, are for example, it may take a few hours or less, for a load of produce to be unloaded. Usually, a lumper service will unload, while you sleep, but most companies will pay you hourly detention pay for the wait. Each company sets their own rules on detention pay. I've worked where the rule is, detention pay starts after 2 hours, and another company it started after 1 hour.
Since you already have your CDL & the schooling behind you, you will be free to pick and choose. Go with a company you feel will be a good fit, and if it doesn't work out, move on to another.
System Transport info: Go to trans-system site, then click on System Transport, then click on "Locations."Last edited: Jan 13, 2013

Your new and Schneider has a lot of different opportunity's for drivers Dedicated runs and such. They would be a good outfit to get started with and find your Niche without having to job Hop.

Go with sni they will try to keep their promises as much as possible. You might work like 16 days before they get you home or you might work 12 days and they'll get you home it is really just what the freight is doing at the time. And if you live in a big city it increases your chances of getting home during the week and at the end of your 14 days on the road

I only stayed away from refrigerated for the fact of the live loads and live unloads with some accounts not all are that way. But the account that I usually ran was like that and if your trailer isn't cold enough they won't load you. I can't say anything about Navajo since I never worked there but like a said sni will usually try to keep their word and there is always room for advancement there
